Sleeping in....and shopping on the docket for today!

First of all....I have been playing "Call me Maybe" most of this morning & Poppy and I have watching Sophia Grace & Rosie the other part of the morning!

Nothing makes a morning more exciting then that right? :)

We got to sleep in & also we are off to hit all the July 4th sales now - (sigh) wouldn't it be great if you live "medium" (I'm not even asking for large) and you could just enjoy life.

Day 2 - Road Trip Vacation

A couple of points of bad news:
1. The gondola - which I was excited to take to the top of the mountain ended...oh...yesterday.
2. The pass between Yosemite from Mammoth is closed...so we decided we will stay one extra day in Mammoth.

Anyways started the day out nice this morning...took Odin for a walk and saw the sun come up.





Then I got him to pose with the Westin sign (BTW - The Westin peeps here have been nothing but nice & sweet to us - everyone here has been nice)





Ended up going out to the "unofficial" dog park here & Odin got his groove back and he's really starting to really like all the "off leash" time he is getting. He even got to go swimming!





We are hitting happy hours for dinner & hanging out in the room watching lots of CSI & Law/Order....per Tawmis.

I think we are just loving the fact that we are on vacation!!! :)

Road Trip - Day 1

We came in last night through a pretty long trip to get here - wow that 395 is long & very boring.

I'm tired

I need to remember that I can't do everything - that I can't fix everything but why does my head still rush to make it it all easier for everyone?

I'm overwhelmed & I don't feel that I have the right to be.

I don't think my problems are worse then others that I know - so bring on the guilt.
I should be happy with being - but I want to be better.

At the end of the day - I'm tired.

Easter 2012

It's been a couple months & I really need to get back to updating this blog! I think it just gets away from me but my goal is to do updates while we do our road trip at the end of this month! Yes. Check.

So we went to George's overlooking the ocean for Easter lunch & it was beautiful and very warm!

We went with the Moppy's - with just Hannah.





And the Coskys.....




It was a great time & it's just nice to see them... And everyone together. I mean nothing crazy really happened just a nice mellow lunch.

A pigeon landed on me for about two minutes and everyone almost pee'd their pants! Good stuff!!

I know I'm early - a week but I couldn't help it this year because I am in a house that I can call my own - I'm loving the holidays!!

Blackout!

It's pretty odd sitting at your desk and hearing the power start going out all over the building...and then soon figuring out it was bigger then just your building. The blackout last night was pretty interesting..I can say one thing I live 4 miles away from work and it took me about an hour to get home! And the other thing I did see was at the grocery store I was standing there buying some water & the guy next to me had 2 large bottles of rum and two boxes of condoms....stay classy!

It was kind of nice to have the quiet in the house and our iPad came in handy since we watched two movies on there I had downloaded previously!

SF!

I know it was last weekend but I spent a fun girl's weekend (4 annual I believe) in SF....it was a fun & beautiful weekend.....

We actually made it over to Treasure Island for a flea market & I had never seen the city from this angle...it was actually very cool.

We love SF - all the colors & friends and sites to see....

Round Up at Disney!

Really...what do 3 adults with no kids do but go to Disney on a Saturday for fun? Even better...two of them claim it was their birthdays so they can get lots of attention from the castmembers!

But, then again we all like to dress up too!

We did manage to get some rides in & got really good at the Fast Passing!

Just a few pics..but at the end of the day we had a good time - and came home with stories & many photos!

Things to remember when you go: there will be lines, remember to fast pass, if you eat at the Blue Bayou remember you paying for the ambience not the food, and remember it's the happiest place on Earth!!

....well I am getting ready this morning to go there....for the 4th time this summer. I guess that is what happens when you get the 4 trip Disneyland ticket that expires in 10 days!

How quickly a lazy, lounging weekend goes by so quickly...

Back to real life today...editing photos from La Quinta this weekend I realized...we really do get really good use out of the Stylus 8010 camera that we bought a few years ago for our Hawaii trip...it has had it's wear & tear and probably we will be in need of  new one soon...but it's really provided lots of fun photos!

Good Morning Heat!!

It's the early afternoon & I wonder how it would be waking up every morning to just leisurely eat breakfast and start gathering up some drinks and go to the pool - oh and it's 100 degrees already :) I do love it here for the weekend it's so relaxing

....almost out the door for a weekend in the sun but I ran into this garland & I think that my next missions is to try to figure out how to make this...it shouldn't be that hard right?? (Pan to me sitting with a pile of papers and stapler marks all over my hands...)

Bicycle

I know that I have a perfectly fine bicycle and honestly I know I don't use it has much as I should and it's cute & pink...though I just saw this photo and I honestly was thinking wouldn't it be cool if when I got out to use my bike that it would look like this? Flowers & everything?

Drinks anyone?

Maybe because I am on the countdown to going to Palm Springs for a weekend of hanging with friends, playing old school card games, lounging by the pool & having drinks….but I have fun & fruity drinks on the mind. I’m excited to get out of town for a couple of days….so what else to do but look up some new drink recipes and try them out….

Key Lime and Coconut Caipirinha

Kobe Punch

Swamp Water

 

 

 

Pog Punch

 

 

 

Swamp Water
1 1/2 cups vodka
1 cup Midori
2 cups sour mix (Lemon-X)
2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup Sprite

Mix all ingredients together. Drizzle grenadine on the top and serve with plastic alligators

Kobe Punch
1 oz. lemon-infused Cîroc Vodka
1 oz. mango rum
2 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. cranberry juice

Mix ingredients together and serve in a glass tumbler, over ice. Garnish with a pineapple slice and a cherry.

Pog Punch
1 1/2 parts SKYY Infusions Pineapple
1 1/2 parts fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 part guava puree

In an ice-filled shaker combine all ingredients, shake, and strain into ice-filled scorpion bowl. Garnish with a floating orchid and pineapple. Accessorize with straws.

Key Lime and Coconut Caipirinha
2 oz. Cabana Cachaça
1 tbsp. shredded coconut
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 lime, quartered
Crushed ice

Muddle lime with coconut and sugar. Add Cabana Cachaça, shake, and pour over ice
